The guy on the bike had been drinking too. He told the cops that he had had "a couple of beers". I did a little investigating for info too - I had some time to kill. It appears Waltrip was leaving a shopping center. The center has two exit roads, one of which allows a left turn onto the main road, and the other of which does not, there's a concrete median in the road at that point. Apparently Waltrip came out the wrong exit, and was trying to swerve around the end of the concrete median in order to make his left turn. That sort of maneuver supports the idea that his judgement was impaired. John |

Well, we'd never know - and for that matter, from what's been reported we don't know that the biker was impaired (there's a big difference between "2 beers in the last 20 minutes" and "two beers while we watched a 3 hour football game"). |
