FTR I think this is more than a slight decline: No offense, Dan, but it appears much more than "a dozen people on a piddly newsgroup" have lost respect and/or interest in NASCAR, and the figures are rising. |

NASCAR was in the wrong! They never should have trrown the green flag while Robby was contesting his position! Had Gordon raced Ambrose clean, for the win or second I could see his position, but he took out the race leader on pupose! My opinion (yes, everyone has one, most stink!) Gordon OWES Ambroes the BEST car at The Glen! If Robby qualifies and Marcus does not, Robby should suck it up step aside, and let Ambrose dive his car!!! (no not a fine day or at least it hasn't started that way) I wonder what Nascar will add on to Robby's penalty. Frankly if they do much more to him, we should start turning the set off and would encourage others that think he was treated unfairly to do likewise. $35K/probation is a slap on the wrist and shows NASCAR is not serious about penalizing assholes like him. We should turn off the TV for a penalty which is too lenient. The only leniency I see is that KH and MA didn't get penalized for wrecking other cars. Right or wrong, he should have listened to NASCAR, now he is showboating and still proclaiming that "he is right" and NASCAR is wrong. With that minor penalty, it appears that NASCAR thinks it was the one in the wrong. This is just face-saving on the part of NASCAR IMO. |
