Ward is 45 years old which is getting a bit long in the tooth for what is
increasingly a young man's sport, plus while he's a nice guy and a good race
driver and I for one love his traditional Virginia accent, I would wager
that a lot of corporate folks are put off by it and don't think he can "sell
their soap" outside the South, which is a major priority these days in
choosing drivers.

Isn't he involved in some wildlife rescue/restoration project?

Good one...

Ward doesn't have the native IQ God provdes for tree stumps. He
probably can't remember which way to turn the wheel at the end of the
straightaway.

But that's not the bad part. He's about as articulate as a beagle.

Ever heard his brother Jeff's explanation of why they speak so differently?

Jeff says its because he grew up in the north end of the house and Ward grew
up in the south end.

He has some sort of foundation going that has something to do with wildlife.
www.twbwf.org

The mission is probably for ex NASCAR drivers to re-live Deer Hunter or
something. :-)
