Nissan Announces 2004 Altima Pricing [Sep. 10, 03]

GARDENA, Calif. (September 10, 2003) – Nissan North America, Inc.
today announced a minimal price increase of $101 across all models for
the 2004 Altima sedan, which went on sale September 8. For 2004,
Altima features a starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price
(MSRP) of $16,850 for the Altima 2.5 with manual transmission. The
most popular Altima model, the 2.5 S with automatic transmission
features an MSRP of $19,200, while the top-of-the-line Altima 3.5 SE
with V6 engine and automatic transmission at a MSRP of $23,250.

"The 2004 Altima continues to be an incredibly strong value story,"
said Mark McNabb, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division.
"Nearly 70% of Altimas are expected to have an MSRP below $20,000 on
their Monroney labels."

The third generation Nissan Altima has been an unquestionable success
since its introduction as an all-new design for 2002. With its
distinctive exterior design, choice of powerful 4-cylinder or V6
engines, performance-oriented suspension and class-leading roominess,
Altima has had an immediate impact in the mid-sedan segment.

For 2004, all 4-cylinder models sold with California emissions
standards will be certified to a new, even more stringent standard
called Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV). As a result, the Cal
Emissions equipment causes nominal reductions in horsepower (from 175
hp to 170 hp). These Cal emission vehicles will be sold in California
and Northeastern states.
