Default '93 Sentra body parts replacement. - 04-19-2005 , 10:47 PM

Hi all,

I own a 1993 Sentra, and need to replace some pody parts, e.g. the right
fender, front and rear bumpers, the trunk and the hood. I have access to
parts (got a '91 Sentra that seems very similar!)

My question is, are there any manuals available that will tell me how to do
it? Will Haynes cover it?, or will I be able to just hack thru it. My main
concern is that I won't know what kind of tools are required, untill I am
half way there!, and will get stuck.

Any pointers will be appreciated.

I bought this car thanksgiving eve 2003 ... what an awsome little vehicle.
Just that the car had been in an accident previously, and the replaced body
parts were never painted, so they are rusting.

Thanks,
Tariq

The 91 & 93 use a different headlights and grill. The fender comes off with
a
10mm socket & Phillips screws (splash shield inner fender).
And a few extensions/ possibly a universal joint.

The Nissan shop manual is pretty good, you can get them on ebay, try for the
93-94.
I bought a fender off of ebay, cost as much to ship as it did to buy (but it
was the right color!)
the body side molding on some is black, others match the body color...

Thanks for replying Gary,

Yes the headlights and the grill do look different, unfortunately.

What is this Nissan shop manual that you referred to? Is it from Nissan
Motor corp? I'll do a search on ebay.

As for the actual parts ... I got extremely lucky!! I drive a '93 4dr sedan.
I knew a fellow who drove a '91 coupe (same grey color) ... the engine on
his car started making a grinding noise, and he did not want to fix it, so I
bought the vehicle off of him .... intend to use all the parts that I can,
and will junk it.

If anyone needs any parts, they can email me, and I can send pics.

Thanks for the tip on tools needed. Looks like I will be able to do this
without the need of any special tools.
