Default CEL Problems - 04-04-2007 , 06:08 PM

My 1997 Pathfinder and my co-worker's 2002 Maxima both have had chronic CEL
coming on issues - and on both vehicles the code clears when it is run on
good quality premium gas.

My code has always been P0156, and despite 11 visits to Nissan Dealerships,
it has never been fixed properly.

Anyone else have any similar tales?

I have read something about Nissan oxygen sensors being sulfur content in
gas finicky!

FG.

My '97 I30 has never lit the light so far. The '02 Pathfinder throws a code
every time we drive through Louisiana & Mississippi on I20 (once a year),
but only then. Its usually p1165 (Swirl control valve something of other).
The dealer replaced the valve the first time it did it, but it came back the
next time we went on that route and every time since. A couple of weeks
after the trip is over, it goes away by itself. I think its got to be the
gas.

O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
Sounds to me like you have an intermittent connection to your rear O2
sensor...
