Default 1989 nissan pickup with Z24 engine - 04-09-2005 , 11:25 PM






idles great....mild acceleration great....falls on it's face with more than
half throttle. Certain must be one of the coils. How can i diagnose this
problem. The z24 is 4 cylinder with 8 plugs(4 intake-4 exhaust) please
help

I had an 84 Z24 that did that, but I fixed it by changing the Fuel Filter
and the Fuel Pump.
There is a Fuel Pump relay that may be going out also.

I doubt very much it's the coils, but it's easy to test. Disconnect
one coil, drive truck, see if it falls on its face. Reconnect coil
and disconnect other one. Repeat test.

(The truck will drive on either coil.)
