Default Nissan X-Trail climate control - 05-05-2005 , 02:54 AM

I purchased a brand new 2005 Ti-L Series 2 X-trail this January. When
ever I change the air to recirculating, the air-con comes on. Nissan
have said that this is how the climate control is meant to work. In
other words, because we don't like car fumes, I have to drive around
with the air-con on. What a waste of petrol! It doesn't make sense
to me.

Can anyone confirm this for me please?

Thanks.

My 2004 model does the same Im afraid and I would guess that all Nissans
with the same CC setup would.

you may want to google the newsgroup topics for similar posts, there was
something about a month or so ago about this same problem and someone came
up with a fix/modification for it

Not a fix, but 'nospam (AT) none (DOT) nul' posted this on 11/04/04

The control dial has a position halfway between the floor+window and (the
preceeding setting) where there is some air going to the window, but the a/c
switch hasn't been tripped. I leave it there often.

<snip>

Just had a brand new Sport on demo since Friday & it does the same.

Current main car is an Alfa 156 & it does the same (tho' you can switch off
the aircon afterwards.)
