I have a 94 Nissan Sentra. Right now my radiator and A/C fan do not work but as long as the car is in motion, everything is getting cooled OK. During normal operation, when the compressor kicks on, it makes a squealing sound for a second and then stops. During that time, the air coming out of the vents gets warmer and then cools right down again. Also, when I have the hood open and the A/C is on, the compressor kind of makes a knocking sound. Both fans run off of a single relay, and the fuses and relay have been tested good. Any ideas on both / either issue would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

The noisy compressor could be due to lack of oil or to the system pressures and condition. The squeal could be the drive belt slipping. Good luck mn9876 wrote: I have a 94 Nissan Sentra. I checked out my belts and I definately need to replace all three. Any ideas about the fans? I haven't checked the diagnostic codes from the computer yet, so that will probably be my next step. Thanks AS wrote: The noisy compressor could be due to lack of oil or to the system pressures and condition. The squeal could be the drive belt slipping. Judging by the quality of the fans in my Maxima, I would doubt that the fans are the problem. man1234 wrote: I checked out my belts and I definately need to replace all three.
