Default troubles with Nissan Quest - 05-14-2005 , 05:42 PM

Bought this van in January. Had tune up done, replaced spark plugs and
wires. Problems having are: idles fast, especially when you are stopped
and in drive, neutral isn't so bad. Also it will almost always die on you
when you first start it and put into gear (unless you push down gas pedal
quickly!) When you are in drive and sitting still, it feels like it is
"jerking" a little...going along with the idling. If anyone has any ideas
of what is wrong it would be appreciated!

suggest reposting at
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/...quest/messages
lots of Villager/Quest owners to help you out.

Start with checking the throttle position sensor for correct voltage when
in idle position.
should be around .4-.5 volts, if not adjust.

Also try cleaning out the throttle body. Lots of carbon/curd builds up in
the cavity.

Join up at the villagerquest group post you problem. Suggest more details
of van history and details of what repairs were performed.
Also check the file section once you sign in.
Lot of good info.
If you don't have a repair manual, pickup a haynes manual as a starter
manual.
