I purchased a 2004 Maxima SE with 50,000km and was told by the salesman (which he pointed out in the manual) that regular gas (87 octane) was fine for this vehicle. ( My 95 Maxima required premium). This thing pings like crazy whenever you really put your foot into it. Anyone have a similar situation? What can be done? I refuse to put premium gas in it. |

LOL you are too funny. 1st of all, if you read the manual it quite clearly states that to get the best performance, use premium unleaded. Now, maybe you don't want to get the best performance, right? You just want it to run without pinging. Well, I don't know about you, but flooring it IS trying to get the best performance. If you don't floor it, 87 will run fine. You've got to get your priorities in order. Refuse to put premium means you also should refuse to floor it. CD |
