I purchased a 2004 Maxima SE with 50,000km and was told by the salesman (which he pointed out in the manual) that regular gas (87 octane) was fine for this vehicle. ( My 95 Maxima required premium). This thing pings like crazy whenever you really put your foot into it. Anyone have a similar situation? What can be done? I refuse to put premium gas in it. === |

It really needs 91, no matter what the manual says. |

I run my 2005 3.5SE on 91 octane premium here. It cost about 5% more but the mpg goes up 12% It works out that the premium is cheaper to run in the car. the car also runs better...more acceleration better all round performance. For the price of these cars why use cheap gas? Shawn "coady" <scoady (AT) apotex (DOT) com> wrote in message news:S2Hyg.90801$hp.9213 (AT) read2 (DOT) cgocable.net...
