94 Max Tranny slipping

Sluggish shift from 1st to second then slipping when accelerating to
pass. Car is automatic with 179 k, changed fluid at 80k and screen or
filter cant remember. Should I flush system again? Will this help? Any
advice would be greatly appreciated!

If the fluid is full it's likely rebuild time.

You've done well if this is the original tranny. My 90 & 94 needed rebuilds
at 120k miles.
Time to take it in! Find a good shop that replaces the torque converter,
puts in a hard 2-3 shift kit, reman'd bell housing.

I had both of mine rebuilt for $1500 each here in Plano, Texas.

find a competent place in town for that sort of work. Who did you use?

Best tranny shop in town! Honest, willing to do little stuff for free, drops
me off and picks me up at the train station! No nonsense, no hardsell, no
b.s.ing!
