I'm looking for some stereo and speaker recommendations for my '03
Maxima SE.

One of the front speakers produces strange sounds at certain
frequencies, and the radio just died. I'd like to replace the two front
(door) speakers and the radio. My requirements are:

- The speakers need to be of the same dimensions as the OEM speakers.
- The stereo must play MP3's.
- The stereo must support the buttons in the steering wheel.
- It would be nice if the stereo played cassettes.
- It would also be nice if the stereo made good use of the considerable
dash panel real estate available to it.
- The stereo does not need to support DVD's, XM radio, or any other
high end functions.

Any suggestions?

Do you have the factory Bose Stereo?

You may want to consult www.crutchfield.com - they have an excellent
website/catalog - and should be able to find you something to meet your
needs.

Whether or not you have the factory Bose currently installed will
change a few things.

It doesn't have the Bose sound system; it just has the default/standard
factory CD/cassette/AM/FM stereo.

Thanks for the suggestion about Crutchfield. I'll check out what they
have.
