Default thanks gary...now windows - 10-17-2005 , 11:54 AM






the other day my driver side window stopped working...took the door apart
and noticed a rattle where the regulator is...noticed that the smallest
little plastic part fall out..called around and was told that i have to
replace everything...ie..motor, regulator ect. is that true? and it costs
$115 for a tiny little part...please help, thanks

I suspect the part is molded/pressed into the cable that's part of the
regulator assembly. You might be able to glue/fix it for a few minutes, but
it would break pretty fast. A new regulator assembly does not come with the
motor, you have to take the motor off the old regulator & attach it to the
new one. I seem to recall the regulators are more like $70 new from the
dealer (It's been a few years) I think Grubbs Nissan (Courtesy also?)
offers a discount for web orders. I would trust a new regulator MUCH more
than used (Then tend to fail around 100k miles, and a junkyard one will fail
soon).
