Hi all,

My 91 Max is 1500 miles from a recommended timing belt change (i.e.,
every 60K mi).

Question: Can I safely go beyond the recommended mileage; is there any
slack built in to the 60K recommendation? Or am I dangerously pushing
my luck?

It is not critical that the belt be changed at 60K. Assuming there is
no oil leaking on to the rubber belt it should last much longer than
60K, I am sure Nissan built a good safety margin into the recommended
interval.
Having said that, if the belt fails you are in big trouble, so get it
changed as soon as you can.
