I'll be doing my first-ever timing belt replacement (2nd for the car)

Replace the water pump while you are in there.
Loosening the nut retaining the crankshaft pulley is tricky, the
engine just rotates when you apply torque to a wrench or socket.
My solution was to jack up the right front whheel and remove it, then
remove the plastic side cover in the whell arch.
Attach a socket to the nut, then an 18" extension (12' plus 6" works),
then a ratchet.
Support the 18" extension with a pile of bricks, right next to the
ratchet.
Then you can hit the ratchet sharply with a piece of 2" x 4" and the
nut will loosen after a few strikes. Inertia will limit crankshaft
turning.
Above works best with 1/2" square drive sockets, less flexion.
Use reverse to tighten nut.
If I remember correctly I had to support the engine with a jack to
enable me to move aside an engine mount, to enable removal of top
timing belt cover.
