Default 406 Fuel Filter - 04-07-2005 , 12:50 PM

First time here for me guys. I have, hopefully a simple question.....I am
servicing my own 406 3.0 V6 Estate. Can anyone tell me where I find the
fuel filter.
I cannot find a Haynes workshop manual which covers the 3.0 V6 so am
struggling.

Cheers

Mark

The local mechanic found mine just behind the rear wheel arch driver's side.
Apparently there are two types and mine wasn't either but off a 16v jobby.
B****dy French. I've had mine from new and saw the import document! So
beware.

I have a 2 litre 97 model 406, the fuel filter is beneath the driver's door
in the space beside the door sill,. I know because a stick or something
struck it and broke the end connection - in the middle of the Oz bush -
petrol leaking everywhere. The filter now has a home built protective
shield. We used a length of ball pen case to replace the filter to get
home, the case just fitted in the end connection O rings, a bit of wire
twisted around to hold things together - the repair lasted a whole week
before I was able to fit a new filter.
