406 funny knock

2.1 406 diesel.has a funny intermittent knock but when you cranck off
one of the injectors then tighten it up again its stops for a while?
I've been told it could be air in the system but it's done it now for
about 850 miles! any one got any ideas what it could be??

Sounds like a duff injector spraying too much fuel in causing engine to
knock with excess fuel,

yeah that's what I thought it was so I fitted new injectors. but na
still does it
