Default 406 16v 1.8 petrol - last of "old shape", 1999 - 05-20-2007 , 02:29 PM

I think I might have shagged either my clutch or, more hopefully, my
clutch cable.

Trouble started a couple of days ago. Changing up to third, I noticed the
revs were still really high and I didn't have much power left. Felt almost
as if I was still stuck in second. Changed down to second again, gave it a
blip of gas, double declutched then back up to third - everything seemed
better. Since this incident I've noticed that the bite point is
significantly higher.

Does this sound more like worn clutch cables or plates?

John

ajuster resetting it self.test put car into 2nd gear hand brake on
engine running and try and pull away.if engine cuts out all well but if
engine keeps running when clutch pedal is up your clutch needs
replaceing,(also u can do it in 5th gear)

Unlikely thing to say, but I've never been happier to stall a car.

Still a very high bite point though - just have to touch the pedal in. Any
way of getting it to bite lower?
