Default 1998 pontiac bonneville antifreeze in air cleaner - 08-22-2004 , 01:40 PM

noticed lack of power so ran on scope came up as misfiring on the way home
temp gauge began to climb until just got to below the red I imediatly shut
it down and let cool then I changed plugs and wires and refilled the
radiator with dex-cool, I started it up and it ran well for a few minutes
and then it started to run rough and it stalled
then I noticed water coming from the air cleaner. is the intake gasket
gone or is there something else to check and if it is the gasket how big a
job is it?

You could have a bad gasket on your motor. take a look here, this should
help ya. Before posting to this forum, please be sure to read all the sticky
threads at the top of the 1992-1999 forum. I also have a 1995 Bonneville.
Need to get rid of it...

The plastic upper intake manifold has burned thru at the EGR
pipe.
If you remove the throttle body (three screws) you'll be able to
see the damage.

The Dorman
http://www.rbinc.com/
replacement manifold sold thru NAPA, CarQuest and other retailers
is designed for extra clearance between the manifold and EGR pipe
and is probably much less money to purchase than an OEM one.
