Well, first, you might be out of gas. Second, get a fuel pressure gage and a VOM. You can buy your own for about $30 and there's no wasted work involved. I don't know how hard it is to get to the pump wiring, because mine never totally stopped and I could always hear it running. (I've replaced it twice). Maybe there's a connector you can get into to see if it's getting power. It seems to me that people work way too hard to try to avoid using a VOM. I have the same car, and I have also had some problems with the ignition module that the coils are mounted to. This can also cause a no-start condition. I have a 90 olds (I know this is a pontiac group), with a 3.1 .. when to get some computer memory today, and when I started it back up, it was running like crap, and died. So I checked the fuel rail pressure valve and there was fuel pressure ... So I tried to start her up again .. nothing, just cranks to beat all hell ... every once and awhile it was act like it was going to start .. but nothing. So I check the fuel rail pressure valve again .. this time, instead of gas, came air... I don't hear the fuel pump running, and I switched out the relay with one that I know works .. I even tried adding power to the power wire on the relay (you know, that red wire for priming I think), and nothing ... Ya'll think my fuel pump went to Harry's house? (went south) |
