1988 Pontiac 6000 2.5L 125,000 miles. I apologize in advance to those who do not like to see attachments in newsgroups. Here it is trying to start at 6 above, and it wouldn't do it. I think the battery went dead. I just started and ran the car yesterday for probably a good 15 minutes but the cold probably drained it down. It turned over slow, but it started and ran even with the four inches of snow covering it. The coldest temperature I've ever got it to start at was -3 even on a battery charger all night and it still took two tries and turned over this slow and the motor had problems to stay running. I did get the motor to run twice today, but the motor would die within two seconds. If you listen closely to this sound, you'll hear the motor try to run once. I also noticed a little bit of antifreeze on the engine when I lifted the hood on the driver's side. I go through this every year of the car not starting even when the battery was new on cold days. So, what else besides a dead battery is causing this? Thanks. The battery is three years old. I forgot how many cold cranking amps it has, but I remember that it should have plenty of cold cranking amps for the cold. Got the battery fully charged and it still wouldn't start. The |

The temperature is 10 (F). The motor kept backfiring also. The voltage was 12.2. Finally got it to start and it kept dying the first few times. It still |
