Default 2000 911 Radio - 01-04-2007 , 01:46 PM

Just purchased this car and ran the battery down to the point the radio now
asks me to enter a securtiy code before it will come on. I have entered
the code from the card supplied but it doesn't accept it. Called the
nearest dealer who told me to remove the radio and call him back with the
serial number but I can see how to simply remove the radio. The owners
manual shows how to remove the front panel only. Any input on what I can
do?

there is a special tool for removing the radio - make one. actually, if
it's like my car, you need to make two - 1/4 inch sheet metal with a hook on
the end - easiest if you can see one, perhaps the dealer will show it to
you, or a radio repair place

Wm Noble has got the right idea. What I'll bet has happened is that the
original radio was replaced at some time in the past, but you still have the
original security code...not the one for the replacement. Happens all the
time. If the dealer can get the serial number, then they can access
Porsche's records and get the proper security code.

Any dealer or reasonably sophisticated car radio shop will have the little
tools, and they should be able to pull the radio out, read the SN for you
and put it back in within 5 minutes...+/-.

Good luck!
