Default Buying a used 911 - 11-27-2005 , 01:09 AM

Looking to buy a used 911 for a weekend driver. New to the Porsche world.
Looking for advice on years/models to avoid. Prefer years 88 through 98. The
996 models look good but they don't seem to hold their value. Why? I know
they're water cooled but why are the 99 model 996's priced as low or below
as a 95-98 993 model? I love the 88-89 Turbo's. Especially the cab's.
Anything to watch out for.

Thanks in advance for info.
