I just leased an '01 with the specs in the subject from an authorized
Porsche dealer, with a certified Porsche warranty up to 100k miles, or
2 years; the car currently has 70k miles, and is now almost 6 years
old. The top had some normal minor wear/aging on the exterior canvas
near the rear-most spar in front of the plastic. The top had been
abrading on itself where it folds and almost had some holes probably
where it rests on bumpers when it is down completely.

After 3 weeks of ownership some convertible top mechanism became loose
and pierced through the top creating a 3 inch hole! Now, they
definitely have to fix the top mechanism under warranty. But, do they
have to replace or repair the top too given the nature of how it got
damaged (even though it was somewhat worn out to begin with?
