Default Should I cover my Porsche - 03-10-2007 , 09:34 PM

I sometimes move my Porsche out of the garage on hot days so the kids
can play in the garage. I also want to prevent the occasional bump
and scratch that may occur when people are walking through the garage
cause that's where my washer and dryer are. I was considering a car
cover, but I heard that the cover may do more damage than good.

So my first question is, should I get a cover?
If so, what cover would you recommend?

Get the cover. I like my official Porsche cover because it fits
perfectly and says "Porsche" on the front.

The issues with covers are if it traps moisture to the paint, gets stuck
when drying, gets glued on by bird poo, flaps in the wind and such.

If you put it out is good weather only and remove it every day or two
then there's no issue. Get one with a soft (felt) lining and it'll be
fine. This will protect the interior and paint and keep scratches down.

I had a '46 Caddie Series 62, and I went to *Goodwill* and got some well
washed/worn cotton bedspreads. Kept the car very dust free and no scratches

I appreciate all the feedback. I looked at the Genuine Porsche cover,
Coverking, and Covercraft. Coverking didn't have a custom fit for
Porsche Boxster or maybe I did something wrong. So I ended up getting
a Covercraft 380. It was the lightest cover that provided the basic
protection I needed. Hopefully, it'll be light and easy enough to use
that my wife will do it herself.

Thanks
