polish and touching up - 08-04-2003 , 08:56 PM

I've read that to do a proper touch-up job you need to use polish
afterwards, but i've also heard not to use polish on clear coat finishes, so
what's the right way? do people have any tips or tricks to do a spot up
job?-t
