Default Oil filter question C900 - 08-18-2006 , 11:52 PM

Anyone know the size of the oil filter on the c900 and the diameter of
the upper water hose?

I am trying to add oil pressure, oil temp and water sensors to my '86
900T and this company (links at end of post) makes some really cool,
"painless" adapters that allow quick hook up of standard send units
without major work. I need the size of the items so i can get the proper
piece.

Thanks again,
Jeremy

Oil adapter:

PS,
Moved in to a new house this month, but no garage. A real pain to work
on the beasty with out sufficient head cover.

I'm not sure how to specify the filter size. 8-) But I do know that the
casing of the standard oil filter that Saab used until recently (the
blue one) is 74 mm diameter with 15 flats. If you have a spare oil
filter you could take it to a mechanic's workshop and use their tools
to work out the thread diameter.

The exact same oil filter is used from the Saab 99's right through to
most (but not all) of the post-GM-takeover models including the 9-5's.
How's that for a versatile part! The old-style blue filters are Saab #
9144445. I don't know what the part number for the new black-coloured
one is.

There are some places on Ebay selling sender adaptors too which I think
are just like the ones you included links for.

GM # 93186554 on the box and FGP55560202 on the filter

A quick digging in my garage results in FRAM PH5550 or MANN W712/38 as
possible filters, the latter being a bit shorter.
