What accessories from Saab do I need to hook up my cell phone through the
stereo systems speakers of my '00 9-5 Aero? I saw a cable of some type - but
I'm not sure what I need. |
Prerequisites for the 9-5:
You need a 9-5 with the Saab audio system, AS1, AS2, or AS3. The audio
systems have inputs for telephone audio and an input for mute signal.
The 9-5 must have one of the telephone preparation factory options.
One option, TEL0, is a connector behind the ACC panel providing power
for the phone and connections to the audio system.
The TEL1 option also provides a microphone, mounted in the panel by the
rear view mirror, and a antenna cable.
Prerequisites for the phone:
The phone must have a handsfree kit, i.e. some holder and electronics
box with inputs for 12V and outputs for speakers. An antenna connector
is needed to use an external antenna. Not all phones provide such a
connector.
What you need:
You need a cable assembly from Saab that runs between the connector
behind the ACC panel and your phone handsfree electronics. This
cable assembly has been available in different versions, e.g. prewired
for Ericsson phone handsfree (with connectors that just plugs into
the Ericsson box) or universal (with loose cable ends).
An antenna if you need and external antenna.
