Nice pictures, but what about the quality? If it like the old 9^5 that
starts falling apart after 2 years then stay away from it. The
electronic panel looks nice, but how long will it last? What is the
repair cost of the 10G hard disk? 1000 Euro or more?

I have two 9^5s that started falling apart after about one year and
several friends of mine has similar experience. How many 9^5 owners do
you know? The list of typical Saab 9^5 problems that many 9^5 owners run
into is quite long:

* Ignition cassette
* Turbo
* Windshield wipers
* Crankcase position sensor
* Heater bypass valve
* Display problems
* Various electronic problems: alarm , upper brake light, auto tranny
control box
* Fuel pump

Well, the danish Saab Club is very active, so I know a great share of 9-5
owners.

* Ignition cassette
They're known to last 150.000+ km. Choosing the wrong type of sparkplugs can
however burn the cassette in very few km's. Bad ignition cassettes is a
known problem throughout the different carbrands.

Quote:
* Turbo
Not an issue here. But again, it's possible to smash a turbocharger very
fast, if you're using a quality fully synth engine oil, giving a lot og
throttle from cold and not letting the charger cool down, before turning the
engine off.

* Windshield wipers
Havent heard of this.

Quote:
* Crankcase position sensor
The can break yes.

Quote:
* Heater bypass valve
Haven't heard of.

Quote:
* Display problems
Yes, using the Opel subsupplier was a bad decission - made by GM. They can
however be corrected rather cheap, and can last...

News to me.

Where these your first Saab's?

Nope, I've had 99, C900 and 9000 before, six different cars and no
towing in 1 million km. With two 9^5 there I've had 5 towings in 200
000 km. Several friends have experienced the same problems with the 9^5.
Obviously a difference in quality.
