Default How to block and ignore trolls - 04-21-2008 , 06:54 PM

I am sick of losers like Mr. Fag and the many other no-life trolls so I am
banning them...WIZARD!!

Here's how. This may vary with your browser of choice but is pretty
consistent with OE and Outlook readers.

Goto Tools Message Rules.

Click on the New button and walk thru the wizard to create a new rule that
will delete the posts you with not to see. You can select to filter by From
or Keyword, etc. Give the filter a unique name.

When done, don't forget to apply and ...WIZARD!!! (my apologies to Alltell
for paraphrasing thier commercial)
Trolls go by-by on your browser.

If enough people do this nobody will be reading Mr. Fags (or any other
trolls) annoying posts. Happy Surfing!

There was some dissussion on news:alt.binaries.schematics.electronic about
using a proxy to filter out messages by header information. Mail/news
blocking rules only work on a limited set of conditions. There had been a
rash of crud posted to abse, among other goups, under the name of valid
posters. Most of this came through google groups. Very few legitimate
posters came through google so many folks opted to filter messages that came
from a google server. Pretty neat idea though I haven't tried it yet. I
believe that the filter was called 'news proxy'

proxies are a great way to filter junk out but sometimes not for everyone.
Did you ever use Proximitron? I love that app. I can tell you might be a
fellow grc.security user?

Personally I found that using simple rules for both mail and news will
suffice. The main drawback is that I block all google ng postings ergo when
you or someone reply all I see is the reply (sometimes I forget that and
occasionally post "who are you talking to?", lol). What I like about using
rules is that there are so many ways to set up a simple rule and it can be
done successfully so that one can safely use ng and email without garbage or
spam.

The only mail rule I use is to direct list subscriptions to a separate
folder. I don't filter anything else. I have seen it a few times that even
the most annoying people can come up with an occasional pearl of wisdom.
Live and let live...
The only thing that really gets my ire is when someone posts under the name
of a legit person and writes trash.

No, never used Proximitron nor know what grc.security is. I do use Yproxy to
decode yenc binaries since OE doesn't handle them.

NOTE:

If you post misleading information about a product and post un-vetted
twaddle repeatedly then yes you are a troll. Every post you make proves
you are a doddering nitwit. You have as much clout in the internet as
Rev. Jeremiah Wright at a KKK rally. You cant even keep your so called
"facts" straight as I've been pointing out. You really are one of the
most pathetic trolls I've ever seen.
I wonder if you even have friends in real life. Do people ever visit
you or do you show up on their doorstep with them saying under their
breath "oh great... that loon korman is here again. Whats he going to
bitch about this time."
If there is one thing I take pleasure in while skimming your post its
nowing that you are miserable and will always be miserable till the very
end.
