Radio and headlights

Have a 1995 SC2. Radio works great until you turn on the headlights. When
you do, the radio light dims somewhat and you get intermittent static
occasionally. When you turn off the headlights, the static goes away and
the radio is great. Any suggestions as to what would cause this???? Any
help would greatly be appreciated.

Sounds like you're drawing too much current over one circuit or the radio

has a ground somewhere, probably to do with the lighting in the radio. do
the radio lights only come on when the headlights do?

its a factory radio. The radio lights up without the headlights on, they
dim though when the head lights are turned on.
