Default replacing purge canister solenoid-- one last question ('93 SL2) - 09-05-2003 , 10:28 PM

Sorry if I'm overstaying my welcome here, but I have one last question.

When replacing the purge canister solenoid on a '93 SL2, do you get to it
from above or below the engine? I followed the tube which leads to the
solenoid from the top, but I couldn't see it. Since my hands are big
and my arms aren't made of rubber, I don't see how to get to it. The
Chilton manual says remove the air tube, so I assumed it was possible to
access it from the top of the engine. Do you guys have to go under the
car to get it?

By the way, replacing the EGR solenoid and EGR valve got rid of the "check
engine soon" light completely, but since I bought a new purge canister
solenoid, I'd like to use it anyway.

Thanks all!

Meph
