Default '98 Subaru Forester wiper blades sizes? - 03-09-2007 , 06:21 AM

I went to the store to buy new blades and the little book indicates that
the driver side is 21" and the passenger side is 19". Digging around a
little I see that this seems to be common for newer cars, but the thing
that bothers me is I can not find anything in the owner's manual about
what size should be on there. I bought the car second-hand so I don't
trust that the blades on there are necessarily correct. It talks about
replacement but says nothing about size.

Where can I find official information about the wiper blade sizes?

Just go to Walmart or auto store and use the little "choose blades"
computer. It will give you the proper size of whatever brands they have on
the shelf for your car.

We had an ice storm last month and it messed up the blades on my Forester.

I looked around and ended up going to Wal-Mart and replaced the entire
blade. Now I can get refills anywhere.
The originals used two small metal blades that were held together with small
plastic clips.
The new refills are one piece and much simpler to install.

I think I paid $4.00 for each blade assembly.
