Default ECU Trouble Code help needed - 01-20-2007 , 11:21 PM

I have a 99 Legacy GT with the trouble code P0440 Evaporative
Emission System. Does anybody know where the sensor is located on this
vehicle?

I appreciate any help with my quest to find this sensors location.

Try a new gas cap.

Try a new gas cap.
This code can really be a PITA ! It can be caused by a hole in the
system as small as .040 in size. If a new gas cap does'nt work you may
have to take it somewhere and have a "smoke generator" pump smoke
through the system to find the leak.

Thanks guys for the help! Great call! The tip makes absolute sense.
Last year during my smog test I do recall there was an issue with the
cap passing when it was tested, it did pass the test after the second
try.
