Default Help I need a new engine - 08-29-2004 , 01:29 AM

I have a 1985 subaru wagon. I'm thinking of buying a rebuilt engine because
I love this car.
Is it worth it? If it is, where can I find the best deal for it. I need it
shipped to Pocatello, Id.
please help.
Steve

A better deal might be a used engine from Japan. Here's
what a google search turns up:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=used+japanese+subaru+engines&btnG=Google+Searc h

That or something from the junkyard. It shouldn't be
too hard to find a used engine with under 100k miles.

Check your Thrifty Nickel or BuyLine; the best place I found is IN Idaho
but up next to Spokane. Post Falls I believe but need to find and check
my own Thrifty Nickel!

I agree that a good used engine is a better deal. Re-builds are almost
never done as well as the origional. Here in Southern California there
are sources of Japanesew engines imported from Japan when the cars are
scrapped early there. Speak to the trusted mechanic that will install
it. He'll know a soirce.

I was really happy with the remanufactured engine I got from Colorado
Component Rebuilders. They only rebuild Subaru and will ship any where.
The shipped me a engine on a pallet, shipped back the old one as a core.
