Default radio loses presets - 02-27-2004 , 09:48 AM

The factory radio in my '97 Legacy loses the presets and clock
whenever the car is turned off. It started doing this w/o any warning
and there do not seem to be other electrical issues. Any ideas? Thanks
in advance.

There's usually a 12v. (always hot) fuse on the radio circuit. The
radio may be running on the ignition only circuit. This would cause
the problem you describe.

Since the presets and clock require a voltage to be present when the
ignition is off I would check for the fuse that powers the clock and make
sure it's good and the connections are clean. Remove the fuse to check. Ed
