I was servicing my '02 Outback today and when I blew out the air filter it was wet with oil. Is this normal? Is the stock filter oiled like K&N? The car has 20K miles. thanks, bill g |

The factory air filter has only a very light misting of oil on the filter. My Forester filter when removed does not have any oblivious oil on it or in the housing. Get a new replacement and try again. If oil is excessive then you may have a plugged crankcase vent problem. Blowing out the filter only gets rid of the large stuff and does not clean the micron size holes which protect the engine.
