I own a 1998 Subaru Legacy SW with 77,500 miles on it. Is it normal to have
some small amount of fluid around the lip of the transmission pan? It does
not drip but is moist up where the bolts are. I had the tranny flushed and a
new gasket put in but not the seal yet. The mechanic said some moisture
along the edge is normal, but should I get a second opinion to see if the
seal needs replacing? |
No, not in my humble opinion. Weeping a small
amount of ATF is probably normal for any 4 year
old vehicle and you'll never notice the loss
with the dipstick.
