Default Camper shell - 05-03-2004 , 04:00 PM

We just got a new Tacoma 4x4 and are now looking for a camper shell. We
will be installing racks (Thule/Yakima) for our surfboards and will be
taking trips down into Baja. Any feedback on which brands of camper shells
to geet/avoid? Thanks.

Perfectly happy with my now 15 year old Brahma cap; we just camped out
in the woods with the dog this weekend. Really basic accomodations: 4x8
sheet of plywood over the wheel arches, storage underneath, full-size
futon mattress on top. Since bears, wolverines, and racoons aren't a
problem in Baja, I won't warn you to move all food into the cab and
close the windows between the cab and the bed.

good luck!

I have both Thule (bike rack off trailer or hitch) and Yakama (top
mounted rack for my kayak) for my '92 Corolla wagon. Both companies
make EXCELLENT racks.

(you could put your surfboards on my Yakama...right alongside my yak
<g>)

Get a Snug Top, these are top of the line and you can get it wiht rack
mounts too.
