Default A Deadly Insult - 12-09-2005 , 02:21 PM

On the way back to the office from lunch, I stopped at the Gas'n'Git to fill
up and grab an afternoon cup of joe.

I pulled up, grabbed the nozzle and hit the '87' button. A few moments
later, over the speakers I heard, "Caravan on pump 5, go ahead" and the pump
clicked on enabled.

But I remained frozen in surprise and horror. "Caravan??!! It's a Sienna,
dammit!!"

Well, winter IS upon us. The Toyota is filthy; covered with salt. Perhaps
if I wash it, it won't get confused with a Chrysler product.

Maybe they really said "dirty van" on pump 5.

Perhaps because Chrysler invented the minivan, Toyota and others simply
copied their idea.

Glad to hear that you are happy with your purchase, however your opinion as
to which is the better minivan is that of a small minority. The vast
majority of buyers disagree with your opinion, since Chrysler sells hundred
of thousands more of their minivans than does Toyota.

True and they improved upon the idea. My Sienna at over two years old
is just as quiet and solid as it was when I drove it off the lot in Sept
03. My Caravan was a rattle trap two months after I drove it off the
lot.

Actually, VW and several Japanese makers had minivans in production before
Chrysler, although Chrysler did introduce the first minivan to sell in
significant numbers in the U.S.

Ouch:
Only thing close to that is when I went to a local gun shop to pick up and RWS 34 in
..22 Cal that I had on lay-away.
The Gun shop owner's wife was there while he was at lunch and told the new clerk
that brought it from the back, "He doesn't have to complete any paper work since
it's a BB-GUN!"

My intake of breath had her correcting herself : "PELLET RIFLE, I MEANT PELLET
RIFLE!"

Such is like in the Southeast, down here anything running on air is a BB gun, and
everyone asks, "How many times you gotta pump that there gun up, feller?"
