No he didn't, not in the literal sense. The word "ho" is not
generally interpreted literally in the sexual sense.

I was shocked that he's actually still alive. I thought he was simply
embalmed upright for the last 10-15 years, and a ventriloquist did the
voice.

The again, if they did that, the show would actually be funny! <G>

I first heard him in NYC back in the mid 1970's. I was amazed to hear
that he was still around. I still have one of his albums "1200
Hamburgers to Go." Maybe it'll be worth some money now. I see that on
Amazon someone's asking $100 for the CD version.

LOL you're sick.

I like that in a person.

Sorry, you're wrong white-boy. "Ho" refers to skanky, promiscuous women;
just as the word "whore" implies.

Then, pray tell, dizzy, what does "ho" signify? In my mind and in the
minds of most people,
it's slang for 'whore'. What else is it?

I couldn't believe this most excellent so had to depart the group and go see
for myself on yahoo. Yeah, indeed Les Moonves let him go! (Which would
have been awkward NOT to do, since MSNBC already had canned his simulcast.
I hope the door doesn't hit ol' Don in the ass when he leaves.

As for his future plans, I rather hope that (like keeping a predator 2500
feet from a school) Imus is kept far out of microphone range. Anybody
other than a 500 watt AM station in the hinterlands of Texas would toss his
resume in the shredder.....so I doubt seriously that he'll be back.

Which is hasn't been for many years actually. A 66 year old man in a
cowboy hat is possibly only funny to other oldtimers in cowboy hats. (good
ole boys that is.)

Physically, Don Imus & Keith Richards seem rather alike to me. ;-)

I think the black community needs to address its own house before they
go
banging on the neighbor's door.

You're assigning a stereotype to the black community; which is the
same
thing that Imus did.

By the way, once you scrape off the racist topping, Imus called these
girls, whom he does not know at all, "whores." That ought to be enough
to get him sacked in an ostensibly civilized country. I've forbidden
certain radio stations in our house for similar reasons. My wife
agrees.

One more time ...

Imus is gone, and good riddance to him. But, the point isn't Don Imus.
The point is the black community is riddled with men that same the exact
same thing, and THEY are encouraged to do so while Dom Imus is
chastised. I agree that Don put his ass squarely into the wringer, I
only wonder why it's a bad thing when he does it but not when everybody
else does it.

Who encourages it? Young guys with lowered rides and over-amped bass
don't speak for every African-American person in the US. You just can't
help yourself with that broad brush of yours.

I don't really care who encourages it, I want to see guys just like me
speaking out against it no matter whom says it. It's disengenous to get
outraged at Imus but not the others. If I get a little bit of paint on
you, then speak out against the examples I give, don't sit there and
defend offensive speech.

You don't know or care who encourages it, but you are darn sure that it is
encouraged! Kinda FOS aren't ya?

I'm a white guy, so none of the paint from your broad brush is getting on
me. If the rappers were on mainstream talk radio with their derogatory
language, then you would have a valid point. Otherwise you are comparing
apples and oranges.

Uh, guess again, diz.
