Yep. Another "family values" asshole from the Republican party:

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former House speaker and potential presidential
candidate Newt Gingrich has confessed, telling conservative Christian
leader James Dobson that he was cheating on his wife at around the same
time the House was impeaching President Bill Clinton over his White
House affair with Monica Lewinsky.

No such thing as a political saint, dude.

Natalie

In their own eyes, they are. But we know better. How much you wanna bet
the GOP props up this pig as its candidate in 2008?

oh yeah...it seems to me you and I were at odds a month or two back about
the 'fake saint' thing...

I can't believe I'm going to say this...> but this time, I agree with
you!

Now, somebody go over and pick Scott up off the floor! And me too, while
you're at it!

Now, it would be good if we could tally up how much his little charade cost
us and have him pay back every penny, I'd *really* be impressed. Of course,
it would be nicer if he'd also receive a Tony Soprano-style beating in a
dark alley. Just enough so he has to be rolled into his job in a wheelchair
for 4 or 11 months.

This should make you happy since Gingrich will obviously not be the
Republican candidate since most conservatives vote on principles rather
than on personalities or their feelings.
Oh, please. Gingrich was a huge hit with Dobson's crowd and the "Christian
Conservative" vote will fall right in to line behind.

Now, a relative lack of enthusiasm for Gingrich may reduce the size of the
vote that Dobson delivers but that's the way those voters will go.

My son pointed out to me, some years ago, before I thought about it, that
one of the most unsavory aspects of certain Christian's worldview is the
political impact of getting "saved," as it wipes out past sins in the eyes
of the voters. Gingrich's play here is to be Born-Again again and it will
probably work well for him.

What's really happening is that Gingrich is playing the Christian
Conservative crowd for suckers.

Face facts, the man is scum. He dumped his first wife when she had cancer,
he cheated on his second wife while he's sitting in judgement on someone
else for cheating on his wife and he got his own BJ's so that he could
exploit a narrow definition of "sex" in his own mind and say "I did not have
sex with that woman."

As a dyed in the wool conservative, at this juncture, there aren't really
any Republicans I'm enthused about. - Bill Richardson is about the only Dem
that has some idea of "running" something, albeit a small state. Since he's
not a threat to the heiress supreme, Hillary ain't drug him thru the shit
yet. So I've no idea what will stick.

Rudy has a lot of baggage, McCain I find just a bit more than goofy on some
of his positions - especially illegal immigration. Bush III (Jeb) seemed to
do well in Florida w/o relying on FEMA to drive the busses etc., but too
much baggage from dad & bro.

Chavez calls Bush a "political cadaver". Funny. :-) And poor George, away
from home without a dictionary.

If it does, I Quit. I don't like hypocrites on EITHER side of the aisle.

When was this announced?

Don't know when first printed/aired, but I heard about it tonight, on CNN.

Cathy

Changed you name?
No. I have no clue why, but most (not all, a couple left) of my ngs
disappeared from my Giganews acct. all-of-a-sudden. Am posting
through Google, which is a PITA.

Cathy

Hard to tell the player w/o a scorecard!

AND, Rudy isn't trying to had anything that I know of. Given the politics
of today, I can't think of one President I've heard of that wouldn't be
controversial and probably most would not be elected today! IMO

There's something wacky in Rudy's past - I wish I remembered what I heard
about. Not his 3 marriages, but something that the fake saints will attack
mercilessly, like having a transvestite for a roommate in his distant past.
Something that nobody would think twice about in the 5 boroughs of NYC.

Well, if you still have giganews, you should be able to re-add them just as
you had them before. Google is the former Deja News (AKA Deja Snooze).

I hate that one with a fiery passion.

Believe me, I tried. They're not showing up as even being available.
Which makes no sense to me. I have no idea how or why they
disappeared to begin with. There one night, gone the next day. Poof.

Google is the former Deja News (AKA Deja Snooze).

Yeah, I know.

A royal PITA to use - extremely clunky, IMO. But better than
nothing...
