It's true. Attleboro, I think was a 'celebrated' case. 1st grade kid came
home with a 'reading bag' with classics like "Daddy's Friend" and "Heather
Has Two Mommies". Dad went to the school to complain and have his kid
'opted-out' of the 'program' and wanted a notification as to when these
materials were being taught, the Principal refused and had the father
arrested!
It was because Dad was complaining about the lack of pictures in those
books.

My kids celebrated Christmas - at Christmas, & just learned about Ramadan, &
are about to learn about Hanukkah (not many Jewish kids in my district).
Note: they don't *celebrate* those holidays, but learn about their
existence.
"Son, do you understand the real meaning of these holidays?"

"Yes, Father. The most important lesson is maximize the cash value of
the gifts!"

I was so proud of him that I placed his next bet at OTB without
charging my usual commission.

I haven't looked up the case, but I was wondering exactly what it was that
Dad -did- when complaining, to get him arrested... (All one would have to
do is write a request that one's child opt out of reading "x", "y" or "z"
book because of whatever reason, & AFAIK that is usually the end of the
story.)

So, you're assuming this is done all over the place because of one known
(to you, but I won't dispute it) case?

Cathy

Very well documented on Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Howie Carr, etc, etc.

Now, you can SAY they represent the Conservative view, and they do, but
you DO hear of a LOT of CR@P like this!

And it wasn't until after Limbaugh brought up a Washington state school
system teaching with "Daddy's Friend" and "Heather Has Two Mommies" that
CBS brought it up...WELL after!

These things only happen in districts where the parents are too busy waxing
their Hummers and spot treating their weeds, and never find the time to make
education what they want it to be.

The Principal would not agree to the "opt out" for certain
classes/assignments, and the father said he wasn't leaving until she
did, or until he had an appointment with the Superintendant.

So she had him arrested for trespassing.

Pity you can't be arrested for being a fuckwit.
Stop your idiotic posting you creep.

That's what you'd like to think anyway. It happens everywhere.

"Everywhere" is a pretty wide reaching term. It hasn't happened here, and
there's nothing out of the ordinary about our school district.

You must be wrong. Rush Limbaugh told Hach it happens everywhere. Once
Rush's worshippers get their official kneepads, there can only be one truth.

Guess everyone everywhere else has plonked you or is just ignoring you, so
you've come back.

As far as being arrested for being a fuckwit, that would have taken car of
you a long time ago. You don't add a whit of intelligence to anything you
respond to.

Or is that just you being a walking Oxymoron? Wait...drop the Oxy...
Okay, at this idiotic point, can we at least get my name out of the subject
line, please? And quit x-posting?
