It's true. Attleboro, I think was a 'celebrated' case. 1st grade kid came home with a 'reading bag' with classics like "Daddy's Friend" and "Heather Has Two Mommies". Dad went to the school to complain and have his kid 'opted-out' of the 'program' and wanted a notification as to when these materials were being taught, the Principal refused and had the father arrested! |

My kids celebrated Christmas - at Christmas, & just learned about Ramadan, & are about to learn about Hanukkah (not many Jewish kids in my district). Note: they don't *celebrate* those holidays, but learn about their existence. |

I haven't looked up the case, but I was wondering exactly what it was that
Dad -did- when complaining, to get him arrested... (All one would have to
do is write a request that one's child opt out of reading "x", "y" or "z"
book because of whatever reason, & AFAIK that is usually the end of the
story.)

And it wasn't until after Limbaugh brought up a Washington state school system teaching with "Daddy's Friend" and "Heather Has Two Mommies" that CBS brought it up...WELL after! |

Cathy The Principal would not agree to the "opt out" for certain classes/assignments, and the father said he wasn't leaving until she did, or until he had an appointment with the Superintendant. So she had him arrested for trespassing. Pity you can't be arrested for being a fuckwit. |

"Everywhere" is a pretty wide reaching term. It hasn't happened here, and
there's nothing out of the ordinary about our school district.
