And on the brink of a nuclear war. As a child, I found the Cold War to
be out & out scary. During those years, I truly thought that it was
very likely that my sister & I would not live to be adults.

I was never worried.

Not even during the Cuban Missile Crisis? I was worried in a general
sense re: the Cold War up till then, but was basically petrified at the
height of that deal. I remember my (7th gr., IIRC) English teacher
giving an assignment that was due in 2 days' time, & thinking... what's
the point? - we might not be here to hand it in anyway; it seemed so
insignificant & ridiculous in the face of that super-tense situation.

My parents were married just after Kennedy died. So I never experienced
the stupidity of that part of the Cold War first-hand. While I knew MAD
was possible, I never really worried over it.
Ah, okay - you are considerably younger than I am, then.

Last I checked that's all that matters in the US.

True, bolstered by lies, he defeated

Taking your lead from above, he defeated Kerry with the most popular
votes ever received by a presidential candidate.

Loose lips harry. He's taken back those words a little bit.

All about politics Charles. It will go on until the democrats regain
the White House. If and when that happens then the Iraq debate will
take on yet another set of legs. They will have some explaining to do
when the shit happens in the aftermath.

If the Dims regain the White House, God help the United States. Might as
well make Hitler Chancelleor or Stalin Party Secretary.

I was shocked to hear that 64% of NC voters think Bush is doing a crappy job
and even more think Iraq is a mess. That was the latest poll. Pretty
incredible for NC.

He didn't say the war was lost.

He said Al Queda was winning. There is a difference.

And he's an Idiot.

Nope. He's exactly right. We GAVE Al-Qaeda the upper hand when we
invaded.
There was no earthly reason for it and we did it, anyway. We GAVE
Al-Qaeda
a training ground for terrorists and a cause to bring in new ones.

Saddam was no threat to the US but we invaded, anyway. All the while,
the
real criminal has gone scot-free.

Bush is the idiot.

He acted on the best information he had at the time,

He acted on info which he knew was not the best available, even at that
time. That's (part of) what pisses so many people off - the dishonesty,
&
wangling things to fit his own agenda. ("Come hell or high water, I am
going to find a way to invade Iraq!") Then trying - & to a large part
succeeding - in duping the public. Until they - well, most of them -
woke
up.

Cathy

How do you know? Were you there? Were you privy to classified
information?

Nah, she's never sat in that chair and had to make the ultimate decisions.
Like Washington, and Lincoln, and Jefferson and Roosevelt, and JFK and Bush.

She just believes the lies the Left keep kicking out as facts. Just like
the Left keeps saying that evolution is proven. By what means did they
prove it? Have they been able to make monkeys evolve into men? Maybe we're
going the OTHER way, given the events at VT.

The "replay of Vietnam" began the minute the first US troop landed.
Sorry, the replay began when the Dims chickensh!ted out, just like they did
in 1968. The Dims are the party of Chickensh!t and have been since then.
They are the party of Nay and Nothing. They are doing the work of the
Communists and some of them don't even know it.

That is how we elect presidents.

The rest of your remarks are only regurgitated bullshit so I shall not
waste my time.
You don't respond because there is no response. Iraq didn't attack us, they
were enemies of bin Laden and they had no WMD. Saddam couldn't even admit
where he was sleeping at night and he employed doubles so that he couldn't
be assassinated. He was toothless, entirely on the ropes and entirely
impotent. We had no reason to go in and wreck their country. Now it's a
huge mess and the world considers it our fault.

There was a bombing earlier this week that killed 140 people. Dubya's all
wrapped up about 30 victims here but he doesn't give a rat's ass if votes
aren't involved, even though he's responsible for it.

Ironic, considering it's right-wing idiots who got us into this mess
in the first place.

Learn what, exactly? That right-wing filth are stupid, selfish
bastards who are prone to fuck-up royally?

Car bombs blowing-up all over Baghdad. Roaming death squads. The
blood of innocents everywhere. America in a quagmire.

Good job, George!

Sorry, you're a lying asshole and an evil piece of shit. Typical, for
a right-winger.

This is YOUR WAR, CHARLES. YOUR PARTY was in charge, you fucking
piece of SHIT!

Sheesh! It's the "dims fault" that Iraq is a disaster. Sheesh again!
"Mission accomplished", even!
