Default OT- how old are you really? - 04-21-2007 , 09:21 PM

YOUR AGE BY EATING OUT

Don't tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway-but
your waiter may know!

YOUR AGE BY DINER & RESTAURANT MATH

This is pretty neat.

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute. Work this out as you read ...
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like
to go out to eat.
(more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1757...
If you haven't, add 1756.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number.

The first digit of this was your original number. (I.e., How many
times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE ! ------ (Oh YES, it is!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2007) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND
WHILE IT LASTS

Hey, we could diet and get younger!
You mean the idea about eating something like 1000 calories or less (or
whatever ridiculously small amount it is) per day deal?!

Exactly! I already count calories in order to keep reasonably thin - no way
would I be able to keep it that low! I *like* food!

Cathy, beware of what they say about aging....
"Life is like a roll of toilet paper...
....the closer to the end of it you get,
the faster it seems to go!"

...........and you can take that to the bank. It's so true it's scary. I
think of something I've done fairly recently (I think) like a memorable
vacation, and when I date it, it was 2002 ! Fortunately, I thought myself
to be immortal until a few years ago, so the inevitability of shuffling off
hasn't bothered me....until lately.
(Speaking of immortality, I have always loved the comment of William
Saroyan, who in the last year of his life, said "I have always known that
people got old and died, but I thought that in my case, an exception would
be made.")

Haven't heard this particular saying, but it's spot on.

Yeah, I know. I first noticed it happening when I was 27 - and from that
time, has kept speeding up. Rather backwards, IMO; when little, birthday to
birthday, Xmas to Xmas, whatever... seems to take for-ev-er & you *want* the
time to go by mnore quickly. But no, it drags. Later on, it zooms.

;-) He definitely had a point.
