More sincere?.....R-I-G-H-T, LOL.

Is there a difference between these two things?

1) Publicly stating your opposition to a war?

2) Choosing the branch of the military in which you're least likely to
see action?

Sorry, Joe, that is waaaayy too complicated for dbu to get your meaning.

Yeah. In his next message, he'll ask ME to answer the question. That's what
he always does when he's stumped.

Because he is a draft dodger who did not have the balls to just fess up
and be one.

Clinton did not believe in the Vietnam War and took a stand against it.

Yes, there are, but not ones where you can give the impression that you
want to serve your country in time of war, without having to worry about
fighting the enemy. Typical chickenhawk repug.

Apparently that was at a point AFTER the Marines made it safe for you to sit
behind a desk, right

Army but no combat. I just sat in an air conditioned building,
overlooking military financial matters, and the only time I came close
to danger was when a _South_ Korean captain pulled a gun on me because
he thought I knew something about the black market, which was
controlled by the South Koreans.

Cut the bullshit. Do I need to give you examples, for the 1000th time? If
your kids made the kinds of grammatical mistakes he does, you'd be bitching
about the job your school was doing. Not visiting the teachers or doing
anything to help the kids, but just bitching.

Why does it bother you so much?

For the same reason it would bother any normal adult who heard their kids
speaking that way: Something's wrong. Very wrong.

A young friend of mine taught a research methods course for college seniors.
10% of the students wrote their final paper using language that literally
made some of the content unintelligible. They flunked the course. A couple
didn't graduate because of this, and had to do remedial work over the summer
in order to get their degrees. It was obvious that they'd somehow gotten
past high school without being able to communicate. This is a crime.

When the president exhibits the same behavior, it is a problem. There is no
debating this fact.

I believe you are exaggerating because he is 1. A Republican 2. He
beat up on your favorite Gore/Kerry.
No. I hold a president to standards equal to those expected for 10th grade
kids. If he's not up to those same standards, something is wrong. I don't
care what party he's from. Linguistic incompetence needs to other labels.

BTW, I've heard Bush make some minor errors while speaking and I've
heard him deliver a speech perfectly. I'm not someone who is that
critical of someone else.
He makes errors when he doesn't have a script. You can tell he doesn't have
a script because there's no podium, and it's usually when he's talking to
reporters and has no idea what questions will be asked. I know of no other
president in my lifetime with this defect.

Do you consider yourself perfect?
Of course not.
