Default OT: The real reason for the H1N1 vaccine shortage - 11-03-2009 , 12:50 PM

For those of you who think the vaccine is manufactured in the basement of
the White House:

When we have single payer and insurance competition this won't happen.

"Single-Payer" means SINGLE PAYER. There won't *BE* any insurance
competition.

No, again you are wrong. The insurance exchange will have many
private insurance companies competing for customers. If you buy a
policy you will pay the government your premium. It is very simple.
Simple is complicated for simple minds.

Pay the government? The costs will *exceed* the revenue the premiums
bring in, where does the rest of the money come from than to pay for
services? So some will have the advantage of private insurance, like we
do now, probably pay *more* than a government plan because we are
considered rich than on top of that they will be taxed to pay for the
services that the government premiums don't cover? Sound familiar,
medicaid for instance, something they are *cutting* now?

Oh yeah, send them a letter. That'll whip 'em into action.

Better to complain here, where nobody from his insurance company will EVER
see it.

Yep I'll send them a letter alright. They couldn't even handle this
fiasco properly, me & my wife had to send them the information *4* times
before they got it right. Than sent us another letter afterwards to see
if I had any other insurance.

Last week, I read an article (might've been at CNN) about a family whose 1
or 2 yr old daughter was denied coverage because the insurance company's
goofy criteria said she was underweight for her age. A little yelling got
the problem fixed. Don't yell at footsoldiers, though. There's nothing they
can do to change things. You have to deal with the brass: The CEO of the
company, and the insurance commissioner.
