Default Previa Sliding Door Sticky - 10-01-2005 , 04:33 PM

Have a 96 Toyota Previa. Opening the sliding door every 2 to 3 days is no
problem. If we do not use sliding door over a week, the door becomes very
difficult to open.

The door does move a bit suggesting lock is disengaging and Panel in
dashboard sometimes lights up to indicate door open. But door will only
slide open after several strong tugs.

Tried greasing every movable part. ie the lock, and parts that engage with
body at both ends of door. This has made no difference.

Any ideas?

Anyone else have

Apply silicone spray on the door gaskets and wipe with a paper towel to
spread evenly. You should do this with all the door gaskets, including the
front doors and rear hatch. This will help reduce freezing in winter.

Spray lithium lube on the door tracks and rollers. There is a roller that
rides in the upper track and one that rides in the middle, just below the
rear-most side window.
